Introduction [Biosketch]
- Dr. Aayushi Lyngwa is an Assistant Professor (Grade II) in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the National Institute of Technology Silchar. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and was awarded a fellowship by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in recognition of her academic merit and research contributions.
- Dr Lyngwa’s broader research specialization lies in Microeconomics, Microeconometrics, and Development Economics, with a strong emphasis on empirical field-based research. Her current research interests extend to tribal women’s economic participation, intra-household decision-making dynamics, and the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in emerging and peripheral economies. She is particularly interested in understanding how gender, institutional access, and financial inclusion shape enterprise development and household welfare outcomes in tribal and semi-urban contexts.
- Her teaching areas include Microeconomics, Managerial Economics, International Economics, Indian Economy and Business Environment. She emphasizes analytical rigor, quantitative reasoning, and policy relevance in both teaching and research, with the objective of bridging academic inquiry and grassroots development challenges.
